Aoudad hunt with us in West Texas and Mexico!

WEST TEXAS and MEXICO AOUDAD HUnts

    Free Range aOudad huNTS

    About the Hunt

We currently guide on  ranches in Southwest Texas South of Marfa and right across the border on connecting ranches in Mexico. The ranches together are over 100,000 acres with intricate road systems.

The terrain varies throughout the properties from fairly mild rolling desert country to extremely rugged, steep, rocky isolated mountains! Spring is a great time to be there, the landscape literally comes alive with all the new green grasses and wildflowers, not to mention it's an excellent time to get out and stretch those legs after a long winter off from hunting and activities.

Our typical day starts early in the morning, we like to set up on a vantage point that allows us cover a lot of ground with our optics, once a shooter Aoudad Ram is spotted then the race is on to cut the distance. Aoudad are notoriously unpredictable, you never know what the are going to do next or how quickly they change course. Because of this we try to get into position quickly to minimize the chance of losing them before a shot presents itself.

If you haven't been on a true free-roaming Aoudad sheep hunt you are missing out on one of the most exciting hunts in the West. These mature rams are an incredible trophy and make an impressive mount in any trophy room. On a typical hunt, we leave the ranch house on a side by side ATV or a high rack truck. We drive the intricate road systems through out the ranch. We will make multiple stops and glass for sheep from the road and high glassing points. We  will spot a ram or rams at a distance and then plan a stalk if there is a trophy sized ram in the group. . We will help you determine a trophy ram that has long chaps and big horns. Our trophy rams average in the 28-30 inch range. The biggest will be in the 31-34 inch range with around 14 inch bases. Occasionally we will kill a smaller horned ram 27"-28".

An Intricate Road System and Wonderful Food and Hospitality sets us apart!

The ranch owner has been in road making construction for many years and has developed a beautiful road system throughout the ranch. This sets us apart as we are able to get to all parts of the ranch to glass and cover the country in a side by side and truck.
